Texas Tuesday- Spring Festivals!

Springtime in Texas means Festival time!  Every weekend there is a festival somewhere that is family friendly and fun!  I really like the "small town random" festival.  The big ones are cool but you really can't beat the small town feel of the little local festivals.  I searched high and low to find you a little something to do every weekend.  Road trips might be necessary this spring and summer!

APRIL
4/16-4/19: Old Settlers Music Festival 2015- Austin area
This one sounds right up my husband's alley since it's scheduled to have Robert Earl Keen & Ray Wylie Hubbard.

Vendors, kids' activities and live music...PLUS bluebonnets.  It has all the makings for a great small town Texas festival!

4/24-5/3: Crawfish Festival- Spring
Tons of fun with a carnival and midway games, vendors, petting zoo AND an alligator wading pool!

What would this festival be without a chicken fry cook off?  Check it out as well as vendors and a classic car show.  Then stay to run the 5K  Color/ Glòw Run!

4/24-4/25:  Granbury Wine Walk-Granbury
You had me at "wine."  Wash your food samples down with some of the best wine in Texas.  It only features wine made in Texas.

4/25-4/26: Houston Chili Championship-Houston
This the oldest chili cook off in the WORLD!  Imagine that...  Admission is FREE; parking is $4 a car.  Proceeds benefits various charities.

4/24-5/3: Hunt County Fair- Greenville, Texas (www.huntcountyfair.net)
I know about this...I grew up going to this fair.  Features carnival rides, midway games, livestock and vendors.  But I am more excited about the music lineup!  Bart Crow, Granger Smith, Roger Creager and Jack Ingram to name a few!

That should get you through April.  Next week I will bring you May festivals.  There are some that sound pretty fun!

Hugs y'all!
Melissa
